OUR PHILOSOPHY
Picture this- you spend a significant portion of your adolescent, teenage and adult life gaining an education to identify and be trained for your career of choice. You have dedicated a tremendous amount of time energy and money to become knowledgeable and skilled and have successfully entered the workforce. Your hard work has paid off. Now you are ready to begin to grow your career, provide for yourself and your family and enjoy the financial benefits of employment… but how?
The unfortunate reality is that very little of the time learning to be a member of the workforce is spent on learning how to manage the money obtained from employment. It’s very common to have the initial excitement of those paychecks overshadowed by fear and uncertainty. What’s the most advantageous way to pay off my student loans? How much do I need in an emergency fund? Do I need life insurance, and if so, how much? When should I retire and how much should I invest? When should I start investing? Should I have a will? Taxes??? And the list goes on…
Foresight Financial Advising is a concierge financial planning firm designed to meet the needs of young professionals. As much fun as money can be, it can be equally as stressful. My passion is to alleviate the fear and uncertainty that comes with money.I will dissect every aspect of your finances, show you where everything needs to go, and guide you every step of the way. You should enjoy the money you earn from your hard work, not worry over it. I’m here to help you do that.
Young professionals are busy. You have a job, family, hobbies and sometimes, you may even want to just sit on the couch and do nothing. I get it. A 1PM appointment on a Tuesday in your financial planner’s office is not convenient.
I provide virtual meetings that work around your schedule, not derail it.
At Foresight Financial Advising, we use sophisticated tech and software to involve you in the planning process. This technology allows easy access for you as the client. You are always aware of the innerworkings of your finances, along with progress while executing your financial plan. Everyday life is simplified by modern technology; your financial planning process should be too.
No commissions.
No hidden fees or upselling.
I charge a flat fee so you know exactly what you are paying for with complete transparency and no conflicts of interest.
ABOUT ME
Michael Cilimberg, PA-C, ChFC
I started my career as a Physician Assistant. Coming from a family of medical professionals, it felt natural. However, I always had an interest in finance and that interest grew as I entered the workforce. I quickly encountered a phenomenon familiar to most young professionals; I was making money and didn’t know what to do with it. Because of my interest in finance, I was able to spend a lot of time researching and educating myself on the fundamentals of financial planning.
I began transferring information I had gained to friends and family in an effort to assist them with their own finances. This became my passion. If I was going to build a career serving the financial needs of others, I wanted a comprehensive and rigorous education. I made the decision to go back to school and entered The American College of Financial Services and earned my ChFC.
My mission with Foresight Financial Advising is to help young professionals navigate through the financial uncertainty that I once felt and enjoy the money they’ve worked so hard to earn. Life’s unpredictability can come with financial implications. I’m not just your planner during scheduled meetings. Whenever that unpredictability happens or new situations present themselves, you can feel comfortable knowing I’m here to help, trusting that we will quickly address it.
My wife, Kacey and I live in Vestavia with our son, Noah and our dog, Cooper. I love spending my free time with them and doing whatever keeps Noah happy. I also enjoy (sometimes) watching Virginia Tech athletics.
Student loans have become a necessary evil for many. Figuring out how to repay them is a stressful endeavor. The reality is that there is no one size fits all student loan repayment method.
Understanding how much to pay and for how many years requires a deep dive into your finances with data collection, analysis, alterations and recommendations – so that’s what I’ll do. My comprehensive student loan repayment planning service will provide you with the clarity and direction you need to chip away at those loans.
Whether you have been managing your finances for a while and want a second opinion, or are just getting started and need a blueprint, with a one-time financial plan, Ill collect all of the data necessary to fully analyze your current financial situation and present the results to you in a comprehensive financial plan with recommendations that you can implement at your convenience.
From emergency funds to estate plans, a financial plan is all encompassing.
We start with onboarding where we have conversations about your life, goals and overall emotions around money.
Next, we gather data. Lots of data. This will allow us to see the full picture of your financial foundation. We will address cash flow, debt management, investments, insurance policies, tax liabilities, retirement planning, estate planning, etc.
Our initial priority will be to fix any structural issues with the foundation. We’ll work together with as many meetings as necessary to achieve this.
After the foundation is secure, we will get to work on remaining goals and goals that crop up in the future while constantly updating and analyzing your current financial situation.
A financial plan in year 1 looks much different in year 5. Ongoing financial planning allows us to keep your financial software up to date, if you will. We can address life’s changes, new goals or even setbacks as they come without starting from scratch.
